Here are the answers to the most common questions for new clients.

Q. How do I login to my control panel before my domain name is registered or transferred?

A. Use the following url to set up your email and user accounts until your new domain name is active (usually within 12 to 48 hours of signing up for a new domain).

NOTE: The domain name you picked goes in place of "yourdomain". Your control panel is on a secure server and requires you to enter https instead of just http.

Once your domain name is active, you can just visit http://<www.yourdomain.com>/siteadmin.


Q. How do I view my website before my domain name is registered or transferred?

A. You can view your website as soon as you get your "welcome" email by visiting
http://www.hostingwithsupport.com/cgi-bin/www.yourdomain.com/. You will only see a Welcome screen until you upload your website content.


Q. I just uploaded all of my pages but I still see the welcome screen. What is wrong?

A. First, make sure you have either overwritten or removed the original index.html page (which is the Welcome page) with your main page and uploaded it to the correct folder (/web). Follow the steps below to make sure you upload to the correct folder.

  1. Login to your site through FTP using the IP Address, username, and password that we sent you in your welcome e-mail. Detailed instructions are in the manual at www.hostingwithsupport.com/manual.
  2. Press the go up a folder button () twice.
  3. Open the web folder from this screen.
  4. Upload your pages there. Be sure to either overwrite the index.html that you see or remove it if you are using index.htm.
